Personal Karma

Hello People of the light,

Today I have decided to talk about Personal Karma.

As we all know karma is a word used widely in this day and age. It has its roots from the Hindu religion. The basic understanding of karma is what goes around comes around. Karma however, can be broken down into various forms of karma. But the most popular forms of karma are personal karma and collective karma.

We can all agree that every person creates their own karma. Some believe that we carry forward our karma from past lives to pay them of in this life. Others believe that we create our own karma in this life and pay for it here. Some believe in a mixture of the carrying forward past karma and paying for that plus karma from this life.

Many Hindu’s believe that if we suffer in this life we are paying off out karmic debt and in the next life we will be blessed to live a happy and peaceful life. Others believe that if we pay off our Karmic debt we will obtain salvation and therefore we will not be reborn into this material world again. I believe that our Karmic debt only extends to this life, but this really is my personal choice, for all I know, I may be wrong.

Also you don’t have to be a Hindu or a Buddhist to believe in the forces of karma. Many religions out there also speak of karma when they say that a person always gets more back than they give. In fact, I always view Christmas as being a season of creating good personal karma.

However, karma, in my opinion, also links up with The Law of Attraction. You see karma comes from taking action. The things we do and the things we act upon will create energy which builds momentum in the universe which then brings to us the things that we want. So essentially karma is so much more than “what goes around comes around”.

So picture this, you throw a pebble in the centre of a pond which creates ripples that expands over the whole pond, which then bounces off the pond walls and moves in a wave back to the pond centre. The karmic action is the action of throwing the pebble, which represents you and everything that you do. The ripple moving out is the universe taking note of the action. The ripples that come back are the Law of Attraction bringing back the energy of what you want.

The personal karmic action can be filled with negativity or it can be filled with positivity. So the energy that you put in will bring back the same energy. Whether you like the results or not will then become a choice. If you like the results then throw another pebble. If you don’t like the results then revaluate the pebble you are throwing before you throw again or risk being an insane person that repeats the same action while expecting a different result. Also, notice that one small pebble created many ripples, meaning that one small action will come back to you tenfold.

Many spiritual teachers advise us to behave positively for this very reason. The picture now seems bigger than we originally thought it was. It’s not just about how often we pray or how much charity we do, it becomes about being loving and happy in everything that we do. I mean we have all seen those chain emails or online comic strips about a person that prays and does charity but they don’t carry that through with other parts of their lives. We call them hypocrites, but there’s no need for that because their own karma is out of balance.

I can explain this by expanding the pebble and pond example. Imagine many big fat ugly stones being throw into the same spot in the pond. It will create big rippling waves. Then we try to balance it out by throwing a few small pretty pebbles in various places of the pond. The large waves more than cancel out the small ripples. The end result will still be negative chaos.
In essences the spiritual teachers of the world are telling us to extend our positivity towards every aspect of our lives so that our good karma does not get cancelled out by bad karma. Likewise positive karma can also cancel out negative karma.

Lastly, I wanted to point out that positive karma and the Law of Attraction also shows us something even more philosophical. Positivity towards something that has nothing to do with you is just as effective as doing something positive for you. Like being happy for someone, celebrating the success of others, and giving unconditional love, can bring the happiness, success and unconditional love to us. Likewise if we are jealous of others success or happiness, or we place limitations on the love we give to others, we will receive the same in our own lives.

There is a lot of reflection that exists in karma and the Law of Attraction. Take a look at your life. How do you truly feel about the majority of people in your life? How does the world see you? Revalue your karmic actions and make the Law of Attraction work for you the way you want it to.

I wish you all peace, love and positive karma.

Keep Smiling J
